Environmental Policy
The quality of our environment determines the quality of our future. This is why Lamifil pursues a policy of continuous environmental improvement. A task of invaluable significance, for which we have appointed an environmental coordinator who reports to the Managing Director.
Lamifil not only complies with all legal requirements but has also elaborated an environmental plan that takes into account of the viability of the company and the quality of life of its employees and neighbours.
Already in 1992 Lamifil launched an orientational soil survey - long before this became a legal requirement (1995) - and implemented a proactive environmental policy. In other words, Lamifil was ready to undertake voluntary action well before mandatory measures were imposed by the government. Thus, the soil decontamination project was started up.
Walkthroughs and campaigns for good household are conducted at regular intervals. In this way, safety and environment become permanent topics of debate on the shop floor and the involvement of all employees is ensured.
Operation permit
The permit expires in 2029.
Soil
Lamifil’s current site has been used for industrial activities since the beginning of 1900. A soil survey has shown that these activities have been the cause of soil contamination. That is why Lamifil addresses the ‘historical soil contamination’.
A soil decontamination project approved by the government, together with an inclusion plan, is in the implementation phase. (OVAM conformity certificate of 14.02.2000).
All surveys necessary for monitoring the soil quality are strictly carried out.
Energy
The company invests in projects for continuous improvement of the efficient use of natural resources and energy.
Safety
The company considers safety as a top priority. Our prevention adviser reports directly to the Managing Director.
With its safety plan Lamifil aims to establish a basis for a safe working environment with respect for persons and materials.
Through the CPBW consultation body (Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work) and the walkthroughs, Lamifil ensures the systematic communication, application and follow-up of the plan.
